First Aid – Training at Patpol

According to the European Resuscitation Council, as many as 70% of sudden cardiac arrests occur outside hospitals, and the immediate reaction of a bystander can double or even triple the victim’s chances of survival (ERC Guidelines 2021). WHO statistics also show that more than 50% of deaths from injuries occur before reaching the hospital – often because witnesses do not know how to respond. In Poland, CBOS research indicates that only about 20–25% of adults feel confident providing first aid.

Awareness of these figures inspired us to organize a three-day series of first aid training sessions at Patpol, attended by three groups of our employees.

During the workshops, we:

  • Practiced cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the use of an AED – a device that can save lives in critical minutes.
  • Learned what should be included in a home and car first aid kit and how to respond in situations such as choking, loss of consciousness, heavy bleeding, or burns.
  • Discussed emergency scenarios at work and beyond, so we know how to stay calm and act effectively.

The training was also an opportunity for team integration. Stepping outside of daily duties and learning together foster trust and collaboration across the team.

For our firm, this is an important element of organizational culture: we care not only about professional development but also about the well-being and safety of our employees and their families. We believe initiatives like this build awareness and responsibility – values that are essential in teamwork and in our relationships with those around us.

25 Years at Patpol – Thank you!

We have just celebrated a round 25th anniversary of one of our patent attorneys – Mr. Krzysztof Kiciak has already been with Patpol for quarter of a century!

It is an incredibly moving moment, not only for Mr. Kiciak himself, but also for our entire team. 25 years is much more than just numbers. It is thousands of hours of analysis, dozens of trainings, hundreds of client meetings, challenges and successes. It is also a proof of sustainable loyalty, rich experience, and continued everyday presence of Mr. Kiciak that creates the spirit of our firm.

We are proud to work with people who have been co-creating Patpol for so many years, sharing their knowledge, building relationship with clients and supporting younger generations of patent attorneys.

We are grateful for your trust and the journey we’ve shared together!

Playing with WOŚP – With Heart and Sustainability

Every year, we proudly join forces with the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (WOŚP) – one of Poland’s largest and most beloved non-profit initiatives. Founded in 1993, WOŚP raises funds to support public healthcare by purchasing modern medical equipment for hospitals, especially for children and seniors. The grand finale takes place every January and brings together millions of people through concerts, events, and charity auctions.

This year, we were thrilled to take part in one of WOŚP’s charity auctions, where we successfully bid on a unique HempBean coffee table, crafted from an innovative and eco-friendly material – hemp lumber.

HempBean is more than just a stylish piece of furniture – it reflects our core values. Hemp, as a renewable and low-emission resource, aligns perfectly with the principles of sustainable development that we strive to follow every day.

We sincerely thank Mr. Piotr Pietras from Green Lanes for personally delivering the table to us – it was a true pleasure to meet you!

We are proud to combine environmental responsibility with meaningful support for those in need.
Thank you, WOŚP, for yet another year filled with incredible energy and inspiration!
