Joanna Rafalska is a patent attorney in Trademark and Industrial Design Department at PATPOL.
Joanna advises Polish and foreign clients on various aspects of trademark and industrial design protection. She represents the clients in opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Polish Patent Office and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). She also appears before the courts in court-administrative proceedings.
Joanna conducts trademark and design registrability searches, prepares recommendations and strategies on trademark and industrial designs protection and files applications for national, EU and international trademarks.
She also drafts agreements and conducts negotiations in disputes over trademark and industrial design rights.
Before joining Patpol in 2017, she gained professional experience in the Trademark Department of the Polish Patent Office.
Joanna is a graduate from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the Catholic University of Lublin, and also from the Faculty of Journalism and Social Communication at Maria Curie-Sklodowska University in Lublin. She also completed postgraduate studies in intellectual property law at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow, the Summer Course on the European Intellectual Property Law (ERA) and IP Summer School (Jagiellonian University), having obtained the relevant certificates.
